As the good ship Darner's Delight pulls into the tiny port of Blue Bonnet Ridge, the docks echo with joyful song. Bonnie and her crew of wily sailors have just returned home. Smiling red-haired Bonnie rarely brings home gold or jewels. Her treasures are smooth rocks, fresh finger limes and dates, hibiscus flowers, and spider silk. The children of the Ridge gather as they unload their cargo, excited to see what sorts of treasures Captain Bonnie brought home.
 
Once the children have had their fill of admiring the bounty, Bonnie and her crew head to the tavern. The captain takes over bartending for the night, mixing colorful drinks for friends and onlookers. She’s narrowly avoided the cunning lynx, just scraped by dens of sleepy wolves, and fought her way out of the great spider's web. She reenacts her latest adventure on the bartop, telling stories of her latest daring escape with flourish and gusto. No matter the bruises and scrapes she endures, she always returns home with plenty of goods and a big, sly grin.

** This candle was inspired by lady pirates in history. Anne Bonny, in particular! 

*** Many pirates had parrots on board for the purpose of selling and trading them at port. Sometimes they grew attached enough to them to keep them as their own. Instead of a parrot, our Bonnie has a Lady Bird (Lady Bug!) as her companion.
