Each Cement Jar holds 9.5 ounces by weight of wax. The jars can be painted with non-toxic acrylic paints or left plain. We do not seal our cement vessels with sealants as we do not want to run the risk of exposure to toxic chemicals as the sealant heats from the flame of the candles. We have burn tested our vessels to ensure that they do not leak while burning. Dark spots may form on the outside of the vessel as the candle burns, as cement is pourous, but this will not affect the overall burn time.
Each Cement Jar has an estimated burn time of 30-35 hours using a CD22 Cotton and Paper wick, but may burn differently in higher altitudes or if a fan is running while the candle is burning.
Note: Please always exercise caution when burning candles. Never leave a flame unattended, especially when you own animals. Please do not let your feathered or furred friends near a candle when it is burning. They could get burnt, or dump the melted wax by toppling the container the candle is burning in. I usually burn these in a room away from the birds just to exercise caution so I know my pets cannot do this.
