Each Cement Owl Jar holds 1.5 ounces by weight of wax. The jars can be painted with non-toxic acrylic paints or left plain. We do not seal our cement vessels with sealants as we do not want to run the risk of exposure to toxic chemicals as the sealant heats from the flame of the candles. We have burn tested our vessels to ensure that they do not leak while burning. Dark spots may appear on the outside as cement is pourous, but this will not affect the overall burn time. The photos shown above that portray the matte owls are what will be received unless the owl vessel has been painted.
Each Cement Owl Jar has an estimated burn time of 10-13 hours using a CD4 Cotton and Paper wick, but may burn differently in higher altitudes or if a fan is running while the candle is burning.
Note: Please always exercise caution when burning candles. Never leave a flame unattended, especially when you own animals. Please do not let your feathered or furred friends near a candle when it is burning. They could get burnt, or dump the melted wax by toppling the container the candle is burning in. I usually burn these in a room away from the birds just to exercise caution so I know my pets cannot do this.

Total weight including cement vessel is 9 ounces. These are hefty little containers.
Cement Owl Vessels filled with 100% soy wax, and fragrance oils that are free of harmful ingredients. They are phthalate free, free from carcinogens, reproductive toxins, and other potentially hazardous chemicals often found in fragrance. We can also do uncolored and unscented! We do not use UV blockers, vybar, or any other stabilizers in our candles. That means that over time the colors of these candles may change. They are bare bones, rustic, and hand made in small batches.
